Two dopes and
a microphone
Dopey started with Dave Manheim and Chris O'Connor, two former IV heroin addicts in recovery who loved to talk about all of it: the coke, the pills, the booze, and every consequence that came with them.
After two and a half years, Chris relapsed and died of a fentanyl overdose. The show kept going, first to mourn him, then to keep doing what it was always for: keeping addicts and alcoholics company.
“Toodles for Chris.”
DopeyCon
Once a year the Dopey Nation gets together in real life for a live show, dinner and way too many hugs. DopeyCon 7: Game Show Edition wrapped on Oct 3, 2026. The next one gets announced on the show and on Instagram first.
